As for the driver, it is super light compared to the UST shaft and that gave me a little trouble at first but I started adjusting to it after 3 or 4 holes. I then started busting it (I ripped out a couple of 300+ yd drives in a row) and that had me and my buddies saying hmmm. I really believe that this club is going to out perform the 975J once I get used to it. Interestingly enough it has kind of a ping (noise not brand) sound to it at impact. In any case the early trouble that I had with it had me fading and pushing the ball out to the right (something I rarely do) and after the round I went to the driving range and started diagnosing and found that I was really collapsing my left arm on the backswing. This was causing the push/slice. Okay my theory then became that because of the extra weight of the UST/975J that this was straightening out my left arm through the swing. So I concentrated on keeping the left arm straight and keeping everything loose to allow for a good natural roll of the hands through impact. This was evidently the problem because I really started busting the ball then. I hit the ball farther than I can ever remember hitting one. I won't be able to play again until Sunday but I will check it our for sure then also. The great thing is that this collapsing of the left arm was really going to start causing problems throughout my entire swing with all the clubs so I am just glad that I caught it now instead of later. So to net it out I am tickled with the club and am very happy with the service that you provided and the craftmanship that you put into the club. I will send you another email in a couple of weeks and let you know how it is going then. Also I am definitely a satisfied customer and will come back to you when I am ready for any new clubs. Thanks, PatJ |
